HB 1168: Protecting Survivors of Sexual Assault
This bill prevents DNA collected in Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kits from being considered as evidence against the victim in other criminal cases. This bipartisan bill has been signed into law and was supported by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police.

HB 4144: Public Water Supply Disruption
Requires public water utilities to notify fire departments and dispatch centers at least 2 hours after being aware of an unplanned water disruption and 14 days before a planned water disruptions event.
This is one piece of legislation to address the water outage crisis Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer residents faced in July of 2023.

HB 4141: Energy Assistance
This bill ensures that residents who receive rent subsidies can still receive heat and gas assistance through the Low Income Heat and Energy Assistance Program. This idea was brought to us by an impacted constituent.

HB 4804: Unplanned Water Supply Disruption Notification
This bill was created to address a communication issue during a water service disruption event in the 51st District last year. This bill allows homeowner's to be contacted during a water supply disruption emergency to properly communicate with residents in a timely manner.

HB 4180: Molecular Breast Imaging Coverage
This bill expands insurance coverage to include molecular breast imaging, aiming to make another form of breast cancer screening more accessible by mandating coverage by insurance.

HB 5459: Water Usage Data Transparency
Codifies into law that, upon request of a sanitary district, water utilities must provide reliable and timely water usage date to sanitary districts so that they can properly prepare their billings.

HB 1168: Victim DNA Privacy Protection
Protects victims of crime by prohibiting the DNA profiles of victims being submitted to a DNA database.
This bill had bipartisan support, was worked on with the Illinois State Police, and supported by the Illinois coalition Against Sexual Assault.

How do I file a witness slip? 📃
Submit a witness slip by following these steps or review the video instructions:
Visit ilga.gov
Click on ‘GA Dashboard’ under Reports and Inquiry
Select ‘House’ and then ‘Committee Hearings’ from the dropdown options
Find the committee that is presenting your bill
Click on the ‘View Hearing Details’ icon
Click on ‘Create a Witness Slip’ and complete the form
